I teach guitar, piano, flute, shakuhachi and drums. in the Fairfield County area, both in my studio (in Easton) and at your home. All levels of guitar and flute, piano and shakuhachi to intermediate level and beginner drums. All ages too. My rates are reasonable and my scheduling flexible. I could pitch further, but I’d rather my students do it:
“Barry taught my daughter how to love playing the guitar. Then I started taking lessons too. His passion comes through in every lesson. We love Barry!”
-Stew Leonard, Jr.
“Barry has been tutoring our children in guitar for 1 year now. They love the instrument in no small part due to his enthusiasm and love of music–their music. He really connects with the kids and they love being with him. He is upbeat, complimentary, and understanding.”
-Lauren Zirn
“I just wanted to thank you for your very lovely way of engaging my son Derek. After not wanting to practice the piano for his last teacher he has embraced the guitar!!”
-Stephanie Sugin
“Before we’re born, we all get into different lines. One of many queues available is musical talent and another one is teaching ability. Somehow Barry got in both. Not only is he a gifted musician, but he’s a gifted teacher. I’ve been taking lessons with Barry with my nine-year old niece for almost three years. Not only did I miss the line for musical ability but I skipped musical aptitude, too, (I did get in line for perseverance, tho.) My niece on the other hand, stood in line for both aptitude and ability but altogether missed the line for willingness to practice or even get through her lesson without complaining. Needless to say, Barry has his hands full on Saturday afternoons. He walks that fine line between teacher, coach and friend with ease. He is tough yet encouraging, demanding but at the same time knows humankind’s tendency towards stop. I am happy to report that not only are we both still taking lessons and actually almost playing at the same level even though I had three years as a kid. I recommend Barry to young and old, talented and not so much.

And if that doesn’t sell you, here’s my former student, Nick Anton, 14 years old. His solo starts at 1:57.
